When was the last time you thought about how the process of reading works? It’s pretty magical how we stare at these squiggles on paper or a screen and make meaning out of them. Not only do we comprehend the literal words, but we also analyze, visualize, and evaluate the meaning behind the words. One line of text can mean different things to different people. As adults, it can be hard to go back in time and remember what it was like to learn how to read, and what the “click” moment was when you realized that the squiggle meant something.
So how do we do it?
